POLICE have arrested and clamped the car of a Tasmanian P-plater caught driving 165 km/h.

THE 19-year-old was speeding on the Bass Highway in the early morning hours when stopped by officers on Saturday.

He was charged with a number of traffic offences.His car has been clamped for 28 days.
